has signed a new long-term contract and has committed his future to the north club until 2028.

The Norway international initially joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021 and his move was made permanent the following summer.

After initially struggling to cement a place in the starting XI, Odegaard has thrived under the management of Mikel Arteta and was handed the captaincy on a permanent basis at the start of last season.

Arguably in the best form of his career, the 24-year-old, man of the match in midweek as Arsenal made a triumphant return to the Champions League after a six year absence, Odegaard has now committed the peak years of his career to Arsenal, much to the delight of Arteta.
