Former midfielder Kleberson believes is the best option for the club and whoever takes charge will realise just how important Fred is to their plans.
The Red Devils remain in the process of looking for ’s permanent successor who is set to replace interim boss in the summer.
Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, , and PSG manager Pochettino are currently the frontrunners for the job.
But Kleberson believes former Tottenham boss Pochettino is the right candidate to lead United back to the glory days.
‘A lot of good names have been linked to the Manchester United manager job,’ he told .
‘It’s hard because most managers already have commitments to clubs and Manchester United have a strong culture in the team. Whoever they bring in must understand the players and the culture of the club.
‘The manager doesn’t have to bring a new methodology to the club, but they need a new philosophy. For me, there’s one good coach who can join United and that’s Mauricio Pochettino.
‘He’s managed in England before and has shown how good a coach he is. He’s going through a tough period at PSG at the moment but he’s still one of the best options for Manchester United.’
United’s last-16 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League earlier this month means the club are now in their worst trophy drought in 40 years.
Their last trophy came in 2017 in what has been a tricky few years for the club but Kleberson feels midfielder Fred has been one of United’s most reliable players.
The Brazilian has received criticism in recent seasons playing alongside Scott McTominay but Kleberson says any new manager taking charge in the summer will soon discover the strengths he brings to the side.
‘Fred is treated unfairly by many people. He is the only player who always tries his best, he just needs the other players to work as well for the whole team to be effective,’ he added.
‘He’s very dynamic, he competes well and tries to play his best football and there’s a good opportunity for him.
‘He’s played a lot of minutes this season and has really shown his quality. This season, he has been consistent while the rest of the team have been very up and down and this will help him in the future.
‘If another manager comes into Manchester United, they’ll realise that he [Fred] might have some limitations, but he works so hard on the pitch, and he creates a lot of good moments for United when they’re not playing well.’
