Mauricio Pochettino to finally start work as Chelsea manager on Monday

The era at will finally get underway properly on Monday when the Argentine has his first day in his new job.

and that was after a lengthy spell of increasing speculation that he was the man to take the role.

It has felt like a long wait for Pochettino to finally take over, but that wait is nearly over and Chelsea fans will hear from him in the coming days.

Not only has the 51-year-old not started work on the training pitch, but he is yet to do any interviews with club media since his appointment, but that will change.

report that his contract officially begins on Saturday (1 July) but he will actually begin work at Cobham on Monday (3 July).

Even when Pochettino begins his new role on Monday, there will be plenty of first team players missing as anyone who was playing in the recent internationals have been given later return dates.

The new boss will be desperate to get them back as quickly as possible, though, as he has just six weeks to work with his squad before the Premier League season gets underway against Liverpool on 13 August.

While the new manager has not begun his work at Chelsea’s training ground as yet, he has been in contact with the club’s co-sporting directors as transfer business goes on.

Much of the business so far has been in offloading players, with the likes of Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Matteo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante moving on, while.
