Maxi Oyedele has seen his loan spell at Forest Green Rovers cut short, with the teenager returning to earlier than planned.
The midfielder made just four substitute appearances for the League Two side after joining on loan in January.
It was the 19=year-old’s first experience of league football, after spending time on loan with team Altrincham last season.
However, it has not gone well for Oyedele, with Forest Green boss Steve Cotterill openly criticising his efforts.
After a 2-0 defeat at Crawley Town in February, Cotterill said of the Manchester United prospect: ‘He (Oyedele) has to do a lot more to get in the starting line-up. I didn’t feel there was enough productivity from him in the second half.’
reports that the Poland Under-21 international has not officially ended his loan spell with Forest Green, but is back at Manchester United and not expected to be involved with the League Two side again.
The youngster is training with both the Red Devils Under-21 side and the first team, with Manchester United intending to send him out on loan again next season.
Troy Deeney was in charge of Forest Green when the teenager joined on loan and Oyedele had sounded thrilled to join the club.
‘I’m very excited to be here and I’m looking forward to getting started,’ he said in January.
‘I will bring energy to the group, professionalism and quality as well.
‘I will let loose and give it my all. There will be no stone unturned. I believe we can climb up the table, that’s why I’ve come here, so I’ll be doing everything I can to help with that.’
