Barcelona forward says he is fully committed to staying with Barcelona this summer.
The Dutch international joined the Catalan giants on a free transfer last summer, but has been heavily linked with a move away before the start of next season, as the club undergoes another phase of its rebuild under manager Xavi.
Depay scored a relatively impressive 12 goals in 28 La Liga appearances last term, but found his responsibility in the side reduced following the January arrival of from .
With Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati the two young Spanish forwards Xavi is looking to build his side around, there has been significant speculation that the club could be actively looking to offload Depay just a year after signing him on a free transfer from Lyon.
French winger Ousmane Dembele could still sign a new contract with the club, after seeing his deal expire on 30 June, while the six-time European Cup winners are also pursuing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowksi.
Lewandowski is thought to be open to a move, and Julian Nagelsmann’s side’s capture of former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane means they have reinforced their own frontline already this summer.
Depay, though, insists he is happy at Barcelona and wants to stay with the club after the end of his summer holiday.
‘I really want to be back in and start again, I can’t wait for that moment,’ as per reports from ESPN, via . ‘But, I’m also going to relax with my feet in the sand somewhere, before I go back.’
Last week, Spanish journalist Gerard Romero reported that a ‘low ranking’ Premier League club had made a bid of around £20m to sign Depay, but the player does not seem interested in the move.
After a disappointing one season spell with Manchester United in 2015/16, Depay subsequently scored 76 goals in 178 appearances for Lyon and became a central striker rather than winger.
