boss Mikel Arteta is hopeful that ’s injury is not ‘anything big’ after the Belgian sustained an issue during the.
The Gunners eased to victory thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus, Trossard, , and .
However, Trossard lasted just 56 minutes and had to be taken off earlier than had been planned after he picked up a problem.
The game on the east-coast was Arsenal’s second of pre-season and Arteta’s priority is strictly about fitness at this stage of the summer.
Trossard’s removal was an obvious concern as the Gunners build towards their opening day fixture against Nottingham Forest in just over three weeks’ time.
But Arteta is hopeful that the Belgian hasn’t sustained a long-term issue and says his removal was precautionary.
‘He got a knock and obviously we don’t want to take any risks at this stage,’ said Arteta.
‘He had some pain and we will see how tomorrow is, but I don’t expect it to be anything big.’
Arsenal face Manchester United in their next pre-season fixture, with the Red Devils flying to New York this afternoon ahead of Saturday’s game.
