Mikel Arteta is preparing his Arsenal team to take on Brighton at the Emirates on Sunday and he is full of praise for opposite number Roberto De Zerbi and his Seagulls side.
Brighton have been very impressive this season and sit seventh in the table, still with a good chance of finishing in European places.
De Zerbi has not only maintained the high standards set by before he left to manage , but arguably has improved the team and seems to have certainly made them more of a potent attacking threat.
Arteta really likes what he has seen from the Italian manager, saying his Brighton side are a joy to watch.
‘They are a really complicated side. The way they are playing under Roberto and the coaching staff is remarkable, it’s just a joy to watch them play,’ said Arteta.
‘What he’s brought to the league is a different idea and different challenges for managers as well.
‘This is what we want, we want to be the best league in the world we need the best managers and the best players.
‘What he’s done there with the team after the foundations that Graham left there at the club, it’s incredible, a very tough match.
‘Extremely tricky the way they play, to handle certain things that they do, but the same for them with the way we do.’
Arteta is also very impressed with how the club is run, which has helped them pick up bargain signings like Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, who are clearly capable of playing for bigger clubs.
‘Incredible, they have a really clear vision,’ he said. ‘They’re ahead of many other clubs in the way they have handled, made decisions, developed players, recruited talent, the way they have set up the club, the people and persons they recruit as well, it’s really impressive, I think they’ve done extremely well.’
