Mohamed Elneny is in no rush to discuss a new contract, happy to wait until the end of the season to decide on his future.

The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the campaign, which is now just three games away, and while it looked likely he would leave this summer, things have changed.

The 29-year-old had been a fringe player for the majority of the season but has come into his own in recent weeks, with four of his five Premier League starts this campaign coming in the last three weeks.

The Egyptian has impressed in the wins over , Arsenal, and Leeds and is likely to have earned himself a longer stay in north as a result.

However, he sounds in no hurry to sort out his future, just focusing on securing Champions League football for next season before discussing anything.

‘Everyone is focused on achieving the club’s objective which is to qualify for the ,’ Elneny told beIN Sports after the win over Leeds at the weekend.

‘The club will speak with the players regarding contract renewals in due course.’

With three games to play Arsenal are fourth, four points and one place ahead of Tottenham, who they play on Thursday night.

Victory away at Spurs would secure fourth place for Arsenal and attention is already firmly on one of the biggest north London derbies ever.

Elneny added: ‘The derby against Tottenham will be tough, and our goal is to win at their stadium and earn qualification to the Champions League.’

Even defeat at Spurs would leave the race for the top four in Arsenal’s hands, with a trip to Newcastle and home game against Everton to come.
