Moises Caicdeo has fired a message to fans after his nightmare debut in the 3-1 defeat to on Sunday.
Chelsea last week.
The Ecuador international midfielder had a debut to forget at the Stadium, though, as he came off the bench on 61 minutes.
With Chelsea 2-1 down and West Ham down to 10 men, the Blues were searching for a late equaliser when Caicedo clumsily brought down Emerson inside the box and gave away a penalty – which Lucas Paqueta scored to secure a 3-1 victory.
Caicedo has now responded to his horror debut and posted on Instagram: ‘It wasn’t the debut that I expected.
‘But I’m happy to get my first minutes with this big club. We’ll keep working hard to put this team where it deserves.
‘Thanks to the fans who are supporting me.’
Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino, quizzed about Caicedo conceding the penalty, said: ‘It was a very negative impact to the team.
‘He was telling us he was ready, I think 30 minutes is good for him, many positive things and he is maybe disappointed but we need to move on and he will be a good player for us.
‘I cannot change my speech after Liverpool – we need to believe in the process and we need to keep being calm, and that is the process.’
