are planning to make a bid to sign Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.
Hojbjerg, 26, has been a mainstay for Spurs since joining from Southampton in 2020 for £15 million.
However, manager is looking to make changes to his squad at the end of the season and sees Hojbjerg as a player who could command a significant fee that would help launch a rebuild.
According to , Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is an admirer of the Dane and would be interested in signing him for £30m.
Since Howe became manager of the Toon Army, Newcastle have won 10 of their last 14 games and securing a player of Hojbjerg’s standing would be seen as another step in the right direction since the club’s takeover.
The report goes on to say, however, that Roma could be also keen on Hojbjerg’s signature with Jose Mourinho being the manager who bought the midfielder for Tottenham two years ago.
Since arriving in north London, Hojbjerg has nailed down a starting place in the Spurs team and has already made 96 appearances in all competitions.
An exit by the former Bayern Munich man would leave Tottenham with just Oliver Skipp, Harry Winks and Rodrigo Bentancur as midfield options.
Conte is believed to be looking at signing a centre-back, two wing-backs, a midfielder and a striker as part of a summer overhaul at White Hart Lane.
The 52-year-old has spoken very highly of Hojbjerg’s performances since he took over the reigns at Tottenham.
Earlier this season, he said: ‘Pierre is another important player for us, he’s young but he’s more experienced that others and he’s a good player.’
