are eager to sign , and Hakim Ziyech from this month.

Eddie Howe’s side maintained their superb unbeaten run against Fulham on Sunday with the manager keen to bolster his options as they look to secure a top four finish and qualify for the Champions League.

The Magpies boss wants to bring in another central midfielder with Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek two options being explored, according to .

Gallagher, who has started eight in Chelsea’s 19 league games this season, is admired on Tynenside along with Loftus-Cheek, who is a long-term target of Newcastle’s head of recruitment Steve Nickson.

Newcastle have attempted to Loftus-Cheek in each of the last two summer transfer windows.

While Graham Potter would be reluctant to let the midfield duo leave, the report adds the club are prepared to sell Ziyech this month.

In what could boost Newcastle’s efforts to sign the Morocco international, Chelsea must cut two non-homegrown players from their Champions League squad ahead of the knockout stages of the competitions if they wish to register new signings Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Benoit Badiashile.

Ziyech started against Crystal Palace on Sunday, providing the assist for Kai Havertz’s winner, but having started just four games in total this season, is not part of the manager’s first-team plans.

His opportunities are likely to be further hampered by the arrivals of Mudryk and Felix, although the latter will miss Chelsea’s next two games after being shown a straight red card on his Blues debut in the 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

Chelsea are also in talks with PSV Eindhoven over a deal for winger Noni Madueke.

AC Milan and Ajax have both been linked with moves for Ziyech who was also reportedly offered to Benfica as part of Chelsea’s efforts to sign Enzo Fernandez from the Portuguese giants.

Gallagher meanwhile could be the subject of a bid from Crystal Palace, who are eager to re-sign the 22-year-old following his thrilling loan spell with the club last season.
