David de Gea has refused to comment on his future at with his contract expiring in the summer.

The United goalkeeper has been at Old Trafford for 12 years and, bar a couple of dips in form, has for a long time been considered one of the best shot-stoppers in the world.

He has been named Manchester United Player of the Year four times – a joint-record alongside – and at the Carabao Cup final win in February he broke Peter Schmeichel’s club record for the most clean sheets, with 186 to date.

This season, he has performed well again, and alongside ’s Nick Pope currently leads the race for the Golden Glove with 13 clean sheets in 29 appearances.

However, his time with the Reds Devils may be coming to an end very soon as his contract is up at the end of the season and there are mixed reports over whether he will sign an extension.

, hailing the 32-year-old for his shot-stopping but equally criticising him for his distribution.

But through all this noise, De Gea has remained quiet on the matter and continued to deflect questions over his future at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday ahead of the Europa League clash against Sevilla.

‘It is time to focus just on games, we have to play many games in a row. It is not the time to lose focus and think about contracts,’ the Spaniard said.

‘I am ready to go and keep playing at my best, that is where my mind is. We are still in three competitions and we’re in the right way.

‘We are playing really good football. We’ve already won one cup and we’re all enjoying it, the dressing room is close together and the players are giving their all in training and games.

‘Beating his [Schmeichel’s] record makes me so proud and now is the moment to keep clean sheets. When we do that, we’re close to winning big things.

‘It feels great. It means I’ve been here for a long time and doing well.’
