have a ‘plan’ to beat in the on Sunday, according to their manager Steve Cooper.
Forest are 18th in the table and have fallen inside the relegation zone after failing to register a victory across their last nine top-flight .
But Cooper’s side have produced some impressive performances this season, beating Liverpool 1-0 and holding Manchester City to a 1-1 draw.
Both those results, as well as their 1-1 draw with Chelsea, came at the City Ground where they host Erik ten Hag’s team this weekend.
United are looking to bounce back after Thursday’s Europa League nightmare, drawing 2-2 at home to Sevilla despite having a two-goal lead for 84 minutes.
The Red Devils have a number of key players out injured for the trip to Forest and Cooper is hoping his side can produce a shock result.
‘It’s a squad full of incredible players,’ Cooper said about United. ‘Whatever team you play against, you know you’re coming up against a really difficult opponent.
‘With that in mind, we’ve got to back ourselves, believe in the plan we’ve put in place and give everything we can. We need to go in with a real positive mindset and concentration.
‘We’re at home, it’s on a Sunday afternoon, it’ll be a game that the whole world watches and not only do we want to give everything to put on a good performance but give even more to get the right result.’
United have played Forest three times this season – having met them in the Carabao Cup semi-finals – and have won every time without conceding, scoring eight goals.
Chris Sutton has predicted that United will only muster up a draw at Forest when they lock horns on Sunday.
