Liverpool kept their faint title hopes alive on Sunday with an impressive victory at Anfield where Salah, , and Harvey Elliott all scored before the hour mark.

The result guarantees the Reds a top-three finish, though they still trail Arsenal by six points and Manchester City by five with just two games to go.

It was a much-needed win following several terrible results that derailed their title challenge, with Salah back to his best following a poor run of form and a touchline spat with Jurgen Klopp.

As well as scoring the opener, the ‘Egyptian King’ assisted Elliott for his wondergoal, bringing his tally for the season to 18 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League so far.

In doing so he has become the first player to score 10+ and assist 10+ in three consecutive seasons.

Furthermore, he has become just the second player to hit double figures in both metrics in five separate seasons – an impressive feat given that he has only competed in seven full Premier League campaigns.

The only other player to achieve this feat was Rooney who did so during his glory years at Manchester United.

Speaking about Salah’s performance against Spurs, Klopp said: ‘Mo was outstanding, he played a really good game. His side with Harvey was good.

‘I was pleased for him. None of the boys want to play not great, why would they? Mo showed what he is capable of.

‘You do it when you do it and if you miss it, then you miss it. If we win all three then we can achieve the fifth highest points tally of Liverpool.

‘We were good in pretty much all areas offensively. The passes were good. So many things were good.

‘We stayed calm. As long as they don’t break the lines then it’s fine, let them pass. I liked our game a lot. The goals were outstanding.’

Another golden boot award is unlikely for Salah however, given that Erling Haaland is currently leading that race on 25 goals.

But the 31-year-old could yet finish the season as the league’s top creator, with the winger, Brighton star Pascal Gross, and Newcastle duo Anthony Gordon and Kieran Trippier currently on 10 assists, just two behind Aston Villa talisman Ollie Watkins.
