Liverpool are yet to find a way of playing and Mohamed Salah together and the fact the Egyptian looks better without the Uruagyan in the side is a major ‘worry’ for .
That’s according to former Arsenal star Paul Merson, who says the Reds’ win against Manchester City has shown Klopp the way forward.
The Reds recorded a morale-boosting win against the Premier League champions by playing Salah centrally, ahead of Roberto Firmino in a deeper position.
Salah scored the winner with twenty minutes to go but Liverpool should have added to their lead when Nunez found himself leading a 3-on-1 counter attack.
However, the former Benfica man failed to spot Salah’s run and the move was Ki**ed.
Liverpool take on West Ham at Anfield on Wednesday night, looking to record back-to-back league victories for the first time this term.
And Merson says that, although it would be a good fixture for Nunez, it’s a ‘worry’ that Salah looks better off without him in the side.
‘Â seem to be back at their best. They worked their socks off against , and that game would’ve taken a lot out of them. This is going to be a hard match. If they win, they’ve secured back-to-back victories and are back in the top-four race,’ .
‘I did tell you that  was going to be a better player with Firmino in the team, didn’t I? How many runs did make from the outside to the inside yesterday? It worked a treat. Look at yesterday – he’s back to being an absolute Rolls Royce. He was up against the best centre-forward in the world yesterday and was outstanding at the highest level.
‘When Darwin Nunez came on, the worrying thing was that he didn’t pass the ball to Salah. It’s even more worrying that he didn’t even spot Salah’s run.
‘They might play Carvalho or Harvey Elliott further up the pitch this week. With West Ham’s injuries at the back, this might be a good time to help Nunez with his game. With him on the pitch, however, you won’t get the best out of Salah.
