Arsenal legend Paul Merson has urged the Gunners to pursue a deal for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.
Neves, who joined the club from Porto in 2017, has been linked with an exit from Molineux ahead of the summer transfer window.
The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are said to be interested in the 25-year-old, with Wolves boss Bruno Lage admitting ‘anything can happen’.
‘In these days we need to be ready for everything, especially a club like Wolves,’ said Lage this week.
‘I’ve said before that the value of players like Ruben is £100million or above. We need to be aware of everything. We cannot lose a big opportunity.
‘Anything can happen, not just with Ruben, and if we want to improve our squad we have to have players on our radar – the best guys at the best price.
‘My chairman and sporting director already know what we need if something happens in any position.’
Merson thinks his former club Arsenal should attempt to sign Neves and expects United to also pursue a move for the Portugal international.
‘If I was Arsenal, I’d be going after Ruben Neves,’ Merson told .
‘ are going to be after him as well. I’m not sure how Wolves are going to keep him at the club, to be honest.’
