Jeremy Doku is a doubt for ’s trip to on Wednesday night, but is fit and available for selection.
Doku picked up an injury in the thrilling 3-3 draw with on Sunday, going off in the second half in some discomfort.
The nature of the problem is unclear but it is not thought to be serious as Pep Guardiola confirmed he will be assessed on Tuesday afternoon, although remains a doubt for the trip to Villa Park.
‘Training this afternoon. I will talk with the doctors and see after,’ Guardiola said of the in-form winger.
There is clearer news on Stones, though, having recovered from a muscular injury which has kept him out of action since a Champions League win over Young Boys on 7 November.
The England international has been on the bench for the last three games without coming on, but is available this week.
‘John Stones is ready, he was ready on Sunday,’ said the City boss. ‘He is capable of playing as a holding midfielder from the start and not just as a centre back who moves into midfield.’
Both Rodri and Jack Grealish will miss the trip to Villa through suspension, while Kevin De Bruyne remains on the long-term injury list.
Guardiola’s team are third in the Premier League table after the draw with Spurs but falling behind Liverpool and Arsenal has not rocked the Spaniard’s confidence in his side.
‘My feeling today is we’re going to win the Premier League,’ he said. ‘If we play at the levels that we showed against Liverpool and Tottenham, we’re going to do it again – knowing that it is not easy.’
