Piers Morgan names the three signings Arsenal must make to compete for titles again

believes should break the bank for three marquee signings this summer if they want to challenge for the league title.

Arsenal’s last league title came in 2004 and since then the likes of and Liverpool have dominated in recent years.

Should Arsenal secure a top four finish in the Premier League this season and qualify for the they’ll be able to attract some big names in the summer transfer market.

And TV presenter and Arsenal fan Morgan has bold ambitions for the club.

‘Arsenal should sign @Cristiano, @gabrieljesus9 and @_DeclanRice. Then we can compete for the league again,’ he tweeted on Tuesday.

Of the three, the Gunners have been linked with a move for Manchester City forward Jesus with Pep Guardiola expected to sign a new striker in the summer.

West Ham’s Declan Rice will not be short of interest from potential suitors but currently Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be at the front of the queue to sign him.

As for Ronaldo, his future at Old Trafford remains uncertain with Erik ten Hag coming in to take over the reins at the end of the season.

Morgan, who has interviewed the Portuguese star in the past, wants the five-time Ballon d’Or forward at Arsenal though despite being 37 years of age.

‘When it comes down to money and owners and riches and banking, we’ve got the richest of all of them,’ Morgan told talkSPORT.

‘Stan Kroenke has got £10billion, he’s married to a woman who has got even more in the Walmart heiress who has £15billion. He’s just bought a ranch for £750million, he can afford to buy a couple of strikers!

‘Do you know what I’d do if I was Arsenal manager? I’d go in, get Cristiano Ronaldo and put him up front.

‘I’ve had this conversation with him last week. I said, “Come to Arsenal”.

‘I’m not even joking. I’d love to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal. If he’s not going to stay at United, I’d take him in a heartbeat.’
