A manager has been questioned by police over the alleged rape of a teenage girl, according to The Sun.
The British newspaper claims that the manager is a ‘well-known football figure’ and the incident is said to have occurred a number of years ago.
They that the manager – who cannot be named for legal reasons – voluntarily attended a police station with his solicitor on Monday and was interviewed under caution but not arrested.
It is understood that the manager denies the accusation of rape and that police have not yet made a decision whether to charge him or take no further action.
‘On Thursday, September 23, 2021, the Met received a crime report regarding an historic rape allegation,’ read a Met Police statement on The Sun website.
‘On Monday, June 12, a man was interviewed under caution at a police station.’
It is reported that the manager met the alleged victim when she applied to work for an organisation he was involved with at the time.
