Arsenal will face competition from Paris Saint-Germain to sign highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, according to reports.
Mikel Arteta is keen on adding another forward to his squad as Arsenal prepare to return to the next season, with more depth needed on the right-flank to support .
Interest in Diaby began in January after the Gunners missed out on to , but Leverkusen were naturally reluctant to lose their star mid-season.
Leandro Trossard was eventually signed and though the former Brighton man has done well, his more natural position is on the left.
As such, Arsenal have made Diaby one of their top targets for the summer, but the report that are keen on re-signing the France international after selling him to Leverkusen in 2019 for just £13million.
The Ligue 1 giants are preparing for somewhat of a summer rebuild with , while world-record signing Neymar is also likely to leave.
Diaby’s form this season has certainly been eye-catching with 14 goals and 11 assists in 43 games across all competitions so far for the 23-year-old.
His efforts have helped Xabi Alonso’s side recover to sixth in the Bundesliga as well as the semi-finals of the Europa League where they take on Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Thursday night.
With his contract up in 2025, this summer presents the German club’s last chance to make a significant profit on the winger, who is expected to cost around five times what Leverkusen paid for him four years ago.
Both Arsenal and PSG have also been linked with Crystal Palace star Micheal Olise who has impressively registered nine assists in the Premier League this season – only Kevin De Bruyne, Saka and Trossard have more.
For now, Arteta’s focus is on keeping Arsenal in the title race with a huge home against Brighton on Sunday up next.
