Jesse Lingard makes a rare start for in Saturday’s Premier League against Norwich City at Old Trafford.
The midfielder enjoyed a successful loan spell at last season, but struggled for regular playing time since his return to Manchester.
Under both and current interim boss , Lingard has found minutes hard to come by.
However, the 29-year-old has been afforded a chance to shine against the Canaries, lining up alongside Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
‘We are missing a few of our midfield players, and in the last three games we were struggling to score goals and create big chances,’ Rangnick told MUTV ahead of kick-off.
‘That’s why I decided to go for Bruno and Jesse in midfield, plus Paul, so we have enough creativity on the pitch in order to score goals.
‘But it’s also important to have the right balance defensively.’
United will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to relegation-threatened Everton last weekend.
The Red Devils need a win to keep the pressure on Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham in the race for the top four.
