has shut down suggestions he was warned over a recent interview he conducted with a fan channel, branding the furore ‘fake news’.

At the start of February, the 21-year-old channel and answered a series of questions from host Mark Goldbridge.

Although seemingly innocuous, the channel is rather divisive – with Goldbridge routinely laying into the players after poor performances – and there were reports that some of Hojlund’s team-mates .

According to the , some players within the dressing room feel the channel is built on ‘negativity’ and ‘slaughtering players’ and spoke to Hojlund about it.

The Dane was described as apologetic and unaware of how his team-mates felt, though Goldbridge quickly and was adamant the interview was done with the full knowledge and agreement of the club.

Now Hojlund too has shot down the story and insists it was never brought up to him by his team-mates.

Asked about the reports, Hojlund told Danish magazine : ‘I haven’t been told anything, so it’s fake news.

‘I haven’t read anything about it, but it’s definitely not true that I have been told that I can’t do an interview with one fan media or another.’

Goldbridge, who actually , was adamant the interview had been conducted in good faith and hit out at suggestions Hojlund had got in trouble for it or was oblivious to the channel and its reputation.

Speaking earlier this month, he said: ‘Where it’s false is that Rasmus didn’t reply and say, “Oh I’m really sorry, I didn’t realise” because if you watch the interview, he’s talking about my career mode [videos on the channel].

‘The bottom line is, Rasmus before he was at United, knew about who I was and The United Stand. So when they make out he said “Oh I’m really sorry I didn’t realise” it never happened. Didn’t happen.

‘And I’ll tell you why. One, because he knew about The United Stand way before this. Two, we’ve been in press conferences for years – and if these players haven’t liked it why haven’t they said something about it?

‘And three, the most important thing, was this interview was hand-in-hand with the club and the player. This interview was aware of by everyone at Man United, from top to bottom, and it took months. So if these players didn’t want it to happen they could have stopped it at any point.’
