Tottenham will be without Richarlison for three-four weeks due to a hamstring injury picked up at the , meaning he will miss at least the next four matches.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury during Brazil’s World Cup quarter-final clash with Croatia, which they went on to lose on penalties in .

It was a serious problem as, two weeks on from the match, the forward is still weeks away from a return to action.

‘I spoke with the medical department,’ Conte said at a press conference on Friday. ‘They said to me we need three or four weeks still.’

This means Richarlison will be hoping to be back on the pitch in the north London derby against Arsenal on 15 January, but that may even be a push.

He will certainly miss Premier League meetings with Brentford, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace and an FA Cup game against Portsmouth.

Commenting on other players who are either recovering from injury, or are late back after World Cup exploits, Conte confirmed Hugo Lloris and Cristian Romero will not play against Brentford on Boxing Day, but will be back for Villa on New Year’s Day. However, Ivan Perisic should be fine for the next outing.

‘Only Ivan came back today and had a training session with us,’ Conte said. ‘He’s available for the game against Brentford.

‘Lloris came back to stay with us and we want him to also stay on bench and stay with us for the game against Brentford.

‘As you know very well, after the World Cup give rest to players. Cuti (Romero) he will be available for (the) next game against Aston Villa.’

Rodrigo Bentancur is also expected to miss the Brentford game, but return for Villa.
