Roberto De Zerbi is happy at Brighton and would turn down any approach from Tottenham over replacing .
Daniel Levy sacked the Italian on Sunday night following his decision to call out his players, the club and its board following a 3-3 draw against Southampton last Saturday.
Conte was expected, in any case, to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expired but his assistant  will take charge of the side for the remainder of the season.
That gives Levy time to weigh up a permanent appointment and De Zerbi’s work at Brighton since replacing has caught the eye of top clubs around Europe.
Brighton have shown that they will cash in on their assets for the right price but talkSPORT say De Zerbi wants to stay at the club and is unlikely to accept any proposal from Spurs.
Julian Nagelsmann is another target following the German’s exit from Bayern Munich and he would be interested in managing a Premier League club.
But Levy will let Stellini focus on the remainder of the season before making an appointment.
Spurs remain in the top four but they have Newcastle and Liverpool breathing down their necks in a bid for a Champions League spot.
Tottenham are out of all cup competitions, having lost to AC Milan in the Champions League, Sheffield United in the FA Cup and Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.
