wants to reunite with midfielder at Lazio, eyeing the England international as a potential replacement for Sergej Milinkovic Savic.

The Serbian has long been linked with a move away from Lazio, with thought to be keen on making a bid for the 27-year-old.

If Milinkovic Savic is to leave the Italian capital this summer then Sarri wants Loftus-Cheek to replace him in Lazio’s midfield, reports .

The 26-year-old has been in and out of the Chelsea side this season under Thomas Tuchel, as he has been for his entire career with the Blues.

Loftus-Cheek has made 17 Premier League appearances, with just nine coming in the starting XI, although Tuchel showed that he thinks highly of the Englishman earlier this week when he started him in the crucial away leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Uncertainty still reigns at Stamford Bridge over how they will conduct transfer business this summer as they remain sanctioned by the UK government.

Until the club is no longer owned by Roman Abramovich then they are not able to buy or sell players, and while a sale of the club is expected to happen before the end of the season, no deals will be anywhere near completed until then.

Loftus-Cheek is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2024, last signing an extension in 2019 and he may well be looking to move on after this deal and finally secure regular first team football.

Chelsea has been the midfielder’s only permanent professional club, but at 26 years old he has only made 71 Premier League appearances for the club.

Sarri spent one season in charge of Chelsea in 2018/19 and that was Loftus-Cheek’s best season for the Blues, making 24 league appearances and scoring six league goals, while he netted 10 in 40 across all competitions. Comfortably the most prolific campaign of his career.
