Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli are readying a £30million offer for star Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.

Many stars have departed for Saudi Arabia this summer, with the country’s clubs forking out huge amounts to recruit the biggest names possible to improve their league’s stature.

This includes .

For their part, Al-Ahli have already signed Roberto Firmino from Liverpool and from .

And they are now hoping to lure in a third serial trophy winner, with reporting that they will bid for Mahrez having already contacted the winger to discuss personal terms.

They have offered the 32-year-old a package worth £25m-a-year, but though he remains undecided on whether to stay or go, it is said he is at least open to the move.

The Algeria captain has two years remaining on his contract at the Etihad and City are not keen on selling.

Mahrez and Bernardo Silva are Pep Guardiola’s first choices in the right-wing position, but having lost Ilkay Gundogan and failed to sign Declan Rice, the Portuguese star will be expected to play more in midfield which in turn makes keeping Mahrez all the more important.

Having played a key role in Leicester’s remarkable Premier League triumph, Mahrez joined City for £60m in 2018 and has gone onto play 145 times for the club, scoring 43 goals and making 37 assists.

With the Citizens he has won four league titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups and three League Cups, and was a key part of their treble-winning campaign last season.

City are facing a dilemma in regards to whether or not to sell several of their older stars, such as 33-year-old Kyle Walker who is wanted by Bayern Munich but has served the club so well and for so long.
