Takehiro Tomiyasu agrees new Arsenal deal with Ben White set to follow

defender has agreed a new deal to stay at the club, with the Gunners set to announce his extension in the coming days.

The international has been in talks with the Gunners over a new deal in recent months and both sides had been keen for a quick resolution.

While primarily seen as rotational player, values Tomiyasu’s adaptability in different positions.

Tomiyasu currently earns around £50,000-a-week but say he will double his earnings to £100,000-a-week with a new four-year deal.

It’s said that Ben White, a £50m signing from Brighton in 2021, is expected to follow Tomiyasu in signing a new deal.

Arteta is keen for players to be rewarded for their good form, even if their contract is not near its expiry.

White wants to stay at the Emirates, and the club expect to sign off a new deal in the coming weeks.

The likes of Martin Odegaard, William Saliba,  and Aaron Ramsdale have all signed new deals in the last year.

Arteta wants a settled squad and now that the hard part of establishing a core has been done, he can add one or two players each summer depending on outgoings.

The Spaniard wants to sign a new full-back and a centre forward this summer.

The Arsenal board will hand Arteta a budget of around £100m.
