The pressure is mounting on the Dutchman following a disastrous start to the season, which has seen United lose seven times in all competitions.

But, should the club choose to do so, they will incur a cost of around £15m just to get rid of Ten Hag.

The Dutchman has 18 months to run on his deal, where he earns a reported £9m–a-year.

United would have to pay up his contract, which would cost around £15m.

There would then be costly fees associated with dismissing Ten Hag’s backroom staff, such as Steve McClaren.
