Arsenal legend says he would have ‘loved’ to play with Gabriel Jesus and says his ‘overall contribution’ to the team makes up for his lack of goals.

The Brazilian set-up one and scored a sublime effort of his own as Arsenal beat Sevilla 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Jesus has struggled in front of goal this season, but his displayed his brilliance with a fantastic turn and assist to set-up for the opener.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for in January, as looks to bolster his frontline.

But Henry says Jesus’ finishing suffers because he’s such an all-action striker, and the Frenchman admits he would have ‘loved’ to play alongside him.

‘I will be honest with you, and I think, for example, and it’s a massive example and a massive thing – I’d have loved to have played with him,’ Henry told CBS Sports.

‘He’s a great guy to have around, I’m sure if you ask anyone they’d love to play with him.

‘Is he a guy who is going to score you 25, 30 [goals]? I don’t know, I’d like to think so.

‘But the goal he scored tonight won the game, that pass [to Martinelli] won the game. And yes, earlier I was talking about the all-round play but those two opportunities were magnificent, that’s exactly how you should play.

‘Now, is he going to be the best goalscorer ever in the history of the game? We all know that’s not really him but what he offers and what he does for a team is second to none.

‘So now if you move off his movement, every now and then he can finish like he did tonight, or what he does sometimes in the league, but he offers so much sometimes that he’s too tired to finish. You need to also be fresh in your head to be able to finish at times.

‘The pressure, the holding, the passing, the finishing tonight was brilliant.’
