has revealed that his representatives are in talks with over extending his contract at the club, which currently runs until 2024.

It has been an eventful time at Stamford Bridge since the German arrived as manager in January last year, with great drama on and off the pitch.

Tuchel led the Blues to glory by the end of the first season he was at the club, but things have been seriously disrupted since then by a change of ownership and a number of players leaving.

However, despite some turmoil, Chelsea have continued to impress and Tuchel is enjoying his time in west , in a more involved role in terms of running the club under the new ownership.

The 48-year-old was already signed up until 2024 at Stamford Bridge, but he has confirmed talks are underway over extending his contract.

‘My people talk to the owners and take care of everything else. You know how glad I am to be here and how much I like it,’ Tuchel said.

‘There are talks but I think given the situation where we come from, and where we are in the middle of the transfer period, I think it is the very best if I focus on my team and on sports and on being competitive.’

Tuchel received a one-match touchline ban after his dust up with Antonio Conte after Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham last weekend.

However, it will not kick in this Sunday when they travel to Leeds as it has been temporarily suspended while Chelsea wait for the full written reasons behind the decision, which also saw Tuchel fined £35,000.

Speaking about the clash with the Spurs boss, Tuchel said: ‘Of course we laugh, it’s very important to laugh, and laugh at ourselves.

‘I was laughing in the dressing room; it was the heat of the match and we didn’t insult each other.

‘I think the thing would have ended if there were not 20 people around us that make the thing look much worse than it actually was.

‘It was passion between two men who fought for their team and I hope they don’t make more of it. He was fighting for his team, I was fighting for my team. I have nothing but the biggest respect for him.’
