The German was let go by in September, just six matches into the Premier League season.

Tuchel won the with Chelsea in 2021 and dealt admirably with Roman Abramovich’s departure last season, which threw the club into chaos.

However, after a £300m outlay last summer, Chelsea supporters were furious when Tuchel was sacked in September.

The German has admitted that getting over the sacking took him a long time and he took his first steps back into management last week by taking over at Bayern Munich.

Tuchel says he still has fond memories of Chelsea but, in a dig at co-owner Boehly, he says Potter’s sacking did not ‘trigger’ a huge emotion in him because the club has ‘changed’.

‘I saw the news very late last night,’ said Tuchel.

‘The timing coincided with my appointment here. I really enjoyed working there and formed friendships for life.

‘But the club has changed a lot, so it didn’t really trigger big emotions in me.’

Bayern’s was in part down to Tuchel’s availability.

It’s ironic, therefore, that Chelsea are now aiming to appoint the German and decided to pull the trigger on Potter due to the former RB Leipzig boss being out of work.

However, Nagelsmann has concerns over moving to Stamford Bridge given the lack of stability at the club.
