Stan Collymore has urged Liverpool to make a move for following his loan spell at last season.

United signed the Austria international on loan from during the January transfer window to help fill the void left by Christian Eriksen’s injury that ruled him out for three months.

The 28-year-old made 18 appearances for the club before a knee injury ended his campaign with five games of the season remaining,

United confirmed his departure from the club at the end of June

With Thomas Tuchel now viewing him as part of his long-term plans, Bayern are prepared to sell Sabitzer this summer with reports in Germany suggesting he will be available for €15million (£12.8m).

Liverpool are revamping their midfield this summer having already brought in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively.

Former Liverpool striker Collymore is surprised United haven’t made efforts to make Sabitzer’s stay at Old Trafford permanent and with the midfielder available for a reasonable fee, he has urged Jurgen Klopp to bring him in.

‘There have been recent reports that the Bavarians are happy for the Austrian to leave permanently for a fee of just €15m – if that is true, I cannot believe Manchester United haven’t snapped their hand off already,’ Collymore

‘If they’re not going to take Bayern Munich up on it, I wonder if Klopp will think about it.

‘He’s proven he can play in the Premier League and that fee is almost too good to turn down, especially when it’s senior international-level midfielders you’re in the market for.’

Liverpool are in the market for another midfield option with the club interested in Southampton starlet Romeo Lavia, who enjoyed an impressive campaign on the south coast despite Saints’ relegation to the Championship.

Southampton are thought to be demanding at least £50m for the former Manchester City youngster.

The Reds have also been keen on Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram although latest reports suggest they are cooling their interest in the France international.
