Tottenham are reportedly aiming to sell both Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele to Villarreal before the summer transfer window closes.
According to , the two clubs are close to a deal for Lo Celso, who spent the second-half of last season on loan at the La Liga side, while the possibility of Ndombele also moving to Spain is being discussed.
Both deals are said to be on loan only however, although there will be buy option clauses that could become mandatory if performance-related targets are met.
It is not known how much these buy out clauses could be worth but it is unlikely that Spurs will make back the combined £83million that was spent on the two players.
Both midfielders moved to Tottenham in the summer of 2019 but have struggled to establish themselves under the club’s various managers in that time, including , , Nuno Espirito Santo, and the current boss .
Following Conte’s arrival last season, the pair were quickly deemed surplus to requirements and departed on loan in January, with Ndombele heading back to former club Lyon, while Lo Celso went to Villarreal, helping Unai Emery’s side in their amazing run to the Champions League semi-finals.
They returned to North London in the summer but are still not in Conte’s plans, clearly evidenced when they, alongside Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon, were left out of the club’s pre-season tour of South Korea as well as the opening game of the new campaign on Saturday.
Tottenham have signed six new players this summer, including Yves Bissouma who, along with January purchase Rodrigo Bentancur, have effectively replaced Lo Celso, Ndombele, and Winks in the squad.
Conte’s side kicked-off the new season in style with a 4-1 win at home over Southampton to go top of the Premier League table after the first round of fixtures, but they face a tough test on Sunday away to fierce rivals Chelsea.
