Tottenham join Liverpool and Manchester City in race to sign Chelsea star Levi Colwill

have entered the race to sign young star who is also attracting interest from Liverpool and .

Ange Postecoglou is aiming to sign a new centre-back as part of his Spurs summer rebuild with various names linked.

While there is continued speculation that they could bring Clement Lenglet back from Barcelona on a free transfer, Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven has emerged as their No.1 target.

However, there are concerns a deal won’t be done because of the 22-year-old’s £30million price-tag, while the Lilywhites are now also facing competition for his signature from Liverpool.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba has also been linked, but the now report that Colwill is being looked at as an alternative target should they fail to land Van de Ven.

The 20-year-old performed very well on loan at Brighton last season and was , with the young Lions winning the tournament without conceding a single goal.

Such is his potential that Liverpool, City and Brighton have been keeping tabs on him throughout the transfer window, however Chelsea are determined to keep him.

The Blues have already turned down multiple offers from Brighton, the last being worth a club-record £40m, and as such the Seagulls are ready to drop out of the race.

Liverpool as mentioned have other targets in mind, while City will only make a move for him should they fail to sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.

Colwill, who is yet to make his senior Chelsea debut, hasn’t returned to training yet as he takes a rest following the Euros victory.

He is expected to travel with his club to the USA on Monday for their pre-season tour however, where the Blues will face Wrexham, Brighton, Newcastle, Fulham and Dortmund.
