Tottenham grabbed the latest of equalisers at Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, with nodding in from a corner in the 96th minute to rescue a 2-2 draw.

Kalidou Koulibaly opened the scoring just 19 minutes in with a superb volley from a corner, as the centre-back looked every bit the centre-forward with the accomplished finish to put Chelsea ahead.

The home side were dominating the game, but the visitors got an equaliser 68 minutes in through Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but it was the build-up which incensed the Chelsea boss as appeared to be fouled. As celebrated and fumed, the pair clashed and both received yellow cards.

It was Tuchel celebrating shortly afterwards, though, as Reece James raced into the box and Raheem Sterling laid the ball on a plate for him to fire past Hugo Lloris and complete the scoring on 77 minutes.

It looked like Chelsea were getting all three points, but it was Kane who got his head to the ball form an in-swinging corner deep into stoppage time and got the draw.

There was another clash between the managers at full-time when they went to shake hands, with an intense squaring up, before both were shown red cards.

It was a lively start from both sides but started to get the better of the opening stages, with their wing-backs seeing a lot of the ball.

Kai Havertz forced a smart save from Hugo Lloris, but the Frenchman’s touch wide with his boot only produced a corner, which led to the Blues opening the scoring.

Marc Cucurella found fellow summer signing Koulibaly unmarked in the penalty area and the centre-back impressively, and emphatically, volleyed home.

It was a great hit from Koulibaly, but it was certainly bizarre that Spurs had left the giant centre-back unmarked from a corner.

There was not a great deal of threat coming from Spurs, with their only exciting moment before half time coming when Ryan Sessegnon raced through on goal, but was flagged offside.

Mason Mount curled an effort wide, while Loftus-Cheek narrowly missed his header from a Jorginho cross and the home side were comfortable as they went in at the break ahead.

Little was changing for Tottenham in the second half so Richarlison was thrown on for a debut, replacing Ryan Sessegnon and suddenly there was a great chance at either end around the hour mark.

After something of a scramble in the Spurs box it was Raheem Sterling who got his shot off but could only send it over the bad.

Immediately Tottenham went down the other end thanks to a great through ball which Harry Kane got on the end of and was in on Edouard Mendy, but mishit his effort and dragged it wide, in easily Spurs’ best chance of the match.

Tottenham were improving, though, and they were level on 68 minutes as Hojberg found the back of the net with a well-placed effort from the edge of the box.

Kai Havertz was fuming that he was not given a free-kick in the Spurs half, with Tottenham getting forward and into the Blues penalty area, but lost the ball. Jorginho was unusually poor in possession and gave the ball back too casually, allowing Hojberg to hit it first time and find the bottom corner.

There were fiery scenes on the touchline after the equaliser, with Antonio Conte celebrating and Thomas Tuchel raging at the fourth official, which led to the two clashing and both received yellow cards.

Chelsea should have been ahead a few minutes later as Kai Havertz got on the end of a perfect Reece James cross six yards out, in the middle of the goal, but put his volley wide.

James sorted it out himself moments later, though, as things opened up beautifully for Chelsea as Dejan Kulusevski gave the ball away in his own half on the right flank.

The ball was played inside to Sterling who saw James bombing on into the box and the forward played in the wing-back who was unmarked, with Ben Davies having to deal with both men, and James calmly slotted past Lloris. Tuchel resembled Jose Mourinho as he sprinted down the touchline in celebration.

Spurs tried to grab another equaliser, with Ben Davies coming close with a flicked header from a corner late on, well saved by Edouard Mendy.

Then they got what they wanted right at the death as Kane headed past the Blues stopper.

The managers shook hands at full-time, but they refused to let go and spun round to square up and cause something of a scene as coaches and players rushed in. Both were shown red.
