are planning to rival for the signing of Arsenal star Kieran Tierney, according to reports.

Tierney has long been linked with leaving Arsenal, with the left-back struggling for game time as Mikel Arteta prefers in that position.

To date, the Scotland international has started just five games this season, though the Gunners are keen for him to stay as the prepare for the rigours of Champions League football next season.

Newcastle have been tipped with signing the 25-year-old for some time but now, according to , Villa have entered the race for his signature, with Unai Emery interested in reuniting with the player he brought to the Emirates.

Emery signed Tierney from Celtic in the summer of 2019 for £25million, but would only get to play him nine times before Arsenal sacked the manager and replaced him with Arteta.

The Spaniard has done an outstanding job since arriving at Villa Park last November to replace Steven Gerrard, propelling the Villans up the table from relegation battlers to a side that could be playing in Europe next season.

The club’s wealthy owners plan to back their manager heavily in the summer and though Alex Moreno has done well since arriving in January, the left-back position could do with an upgrade as Ashley Young turns 38 in the summer and Lucas Digne is not in favour.

It was reported on Thursday that , with Barcelona willing to sell the forward to facilitate Lionel Messi’s return to the Camp Nou.

In addition to the news, the Telegraph also claim that Villa are interested in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, a former transfer target for the Gunners.

The Serbia international became linked with the north London side last season especially after the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but instead he joined the Serie A giants from Fiorentina in a deal worth an initial £58m.

But Juventus are suffering financial difficulties and could look to sell Vlahovic, who has scored 12 goals in 37 games so far this season, this summer as a result.
