West Ham ‘optimistic’ over Jarrod Bowen injury ahead of FA Cup replay vs Bristol City

are optimistic over ’s ahead of their replay against Bristol City next Tuesday.

The 27-year-old has been in excellent form for ’ side this season with 14 goals in all competitions.

But he now faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during the final stages of West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City in the FA Cup third last Sunday.

West Ham are due to play their FA Cup replay against Bristol City next Tuesday before facing a trip to Sheffield United in the Premier League on January 21.

According to the , West Ham are ‘optimistic’ that Bowen’s injury is not as serious as first feared and there is ‘hope’ within the club that he will only be absent for a short period.

The report claims that Bowen will be out for the game against Bristol City and West Ham are hopeful that the match against Sheffield United is the only Premier League fixture he will miss before making a return.

After playing Sheffield United on January 21, West Ham will have an against either Nottingham Forest or Blackpool on January 27 if they beat Bristol City in their replay at Ashton Gate next week.

The Hammers are then due to host Bournemouth in the Premier League on February 1 before playing away to Manchester United on February 4.

Elsewhere, West Ham face the prospect of losing Lucas Paqueta for around two months due to a calf injury.

Moyes is also faced with a further headache in attack with Michail Antonio sidelined for six weeks due to a knee injury, while Mohammed Kudus is with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations
