What is the Premier League Summer Series 2023?

The has announced a brand new pre-season tournament for this summer.

The Premier League Summer Series 2023 will see six clubs take part in friendly matches across five cities on the East Coast of .

But what exactly is this official competition and when will it take place?

Here is everything we know so far about the Premier League Summer Series.

What is the Premier League Summer Series?

The Summer Series will take place from July, 22 to July 30, 2023.

The tournament had been due to take place in 2022, but with issues surrounding the pandemic, it was put back by 12 months.

, Brentford, Brighton, , Fulham and will be the teams taking part in the Premier League Summer Series.

Leeds were reportedly set to be involved, but a question mark over their Premier League status owing to their relegation battle saw them replaced in the competition by Fulham.

Each side will play three games and they will not play another club more than once.

The format to determine the winning team will be announced by the Premier League in due course.

The only other Premier League-affiliated competition before the Summer Series was the Premier League Asia Trophy, which began in 2003 and was held biannually until 2019.

Five cities will share hosting duties; Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, New Jersey and Maryland.

The fixtures will form a vital part of the pre-season plans for the six clubs, with the Premier League 2023/24 season set to get underway on August 12.

How to get tickets

Tickets are available to purchase now on general sale through the Ticketmaster and SeatGeek websites.

Tickets start from $30 at Exploria Stadium and Red Bull Arena, and from $40 for Lincoln Financial Field, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and FedExField.

The tickets are available to buy regardless of whether you live in the USA or not.

How to watch on TV

The UK broadcaster for the tournament has not yet been revealed by the Premier League.

However, it is likely that either Sky Sports, BT Sport or Amazon Prime will have live coverage as the existing TV rights holders.
