It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Keith Blanchard, a Granite High School Alumni from Alpine California, has passed away after being involved in an accident. Keith was a forward-thinking individual who loved technology and new ideas, and his death is a great loss to the community. Keith Blanchard, 26, of Alpine, CA, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 3rd. He was an avid surfer and snowboarder who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Keith was a member of the United States Army and served in Iraq from 2006-to 2008. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar and singing in his church choir. He is survived by his mother, Nancy (Schultz) Blanchard; father, Steven Blanchard; sister, Kaylee (Steven) Hill; and brother, Joe (Nancy) Blanchard. Keith Blanchardborn on October 5, 1976, was a Granite High School alumni from Alpine, California. He was an accidental victim of the school shooting after he volunteered to cover for one of his friends.

The lost his best friend from high school to this horrific event hence his decision to volunteer on a fateful day. He was scheduled to take up an internship at Hewlett-Packard afterward but upon hearing the news. He opted to take a leave of absence while studying in his 3rd year. He took his time off in order to revisit the institution where he lost his life-long friend. His death comes as a shock and sadness to all who knew him. The family has been plunged into deep sadness and grief ever since they heard the news of his untimely death.

Keith Blanchard was a man that loved to make people laugh, he was known by his friends as a very funny guy. He passed away in an accident Monday. He had made friends in literally all of the schools he attended while attending Granite High School, and San Diego State University. Keith was a past graduate of Granite High School in the San Francisco Bay Area and an alumnus fundraiser for their alumni association. Keith’s parents, Nancy (Schultz) Blanchard and Steven Blanchard lived in Alpine California (90 miles east of San Francisco) and were avid outdoors people that enjoyed spending time with their kids.
