Although the 2022 is currently a talking topic, the 2023 Women’s World Cup 2023 is also soon approaching and the first few qualifiers have been announced for this sport event.

This 2023 tournament will be the ninth edition of its kind and a record of 64 matches are set to be played across 10 different stadiums between two countries that will be hosting the games.

The countries that have qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup do not currently include England.

Here is all you need to know about the FIFA Women’s World Cup:

When is the FIFA Women’s World Cup?

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 inaugural matches start on July 20th, 2023 whilst the Women’s World Cup final takes place exactly one month later on August 20th 2023.

In 2019, FIFA voted to extend the Women’s World Cup from 24 to 32 teams from the 2023 tournament onwards.

The women football teams have been expanded for the 2023 world cup.

This then means that it will be in line with the same number of teams on the men’s version. However, that will soon change as the men’s version will be expanding to 48 teams in 2026.

Where is the FIFA Women’s World Cup being held?

The FIFA Women’s World Cup will be taking place in Australia and New Zealand as the two countries co-host the event.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup final will take place at Stadium Australia in Sydney.

Who qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023?

England is yet to be confirmed on the qualifier list as the complete qualifier list will not be known until February 2023, so England could very well have a good chance of making it on the qualifier list.

The FIFA World Cup 2023 qualifiers include:

  • New Zealand
  • Australia
  • Japan
  • Spain
  • France
  • Sweden and more
