And Cucurella is being targeted by supporters for a second successive game inside the Olympiastadion Berlin on Sunday evening.

The negative reaction towards Cucurella comes from fans inside the stadium who are still aggrieved after they were denied a penalty in their quarter-final tie against Spain.

Spain then went on to score in extra time to secure a 2-1 victory, which dumped tournament hosts Germany out of the competition.

Germany supporters were furious with the decision and over 37,000 fans signed an online petition which demanded UEFA to replay the quarter-final tie with Spain.

UEFA, meanwhile, declared that the decision from Premier League referee Anthony Taylor was correct because ‘Cucurella’s hand was not in an unnatural position at the time it was hit by the ball’.

When asked about being booed by the crowd after Spain’s win over France, Cucurella said: ‘These are things that happen, I’m not to blame for anything.

‘I don’t know what they were trying to achieve with that but that’s the way it is.

‘The most important thing is that we’re in the final, and that’s it.’

However, Cucurella’s Spain teammate Dani Vivian hit out at supporters who jeered the Chelsea defender.

‘It’s shameless, no player deserves that,’ Vivian said.

‘I think that coming to a football stadium to boo someone shows a lack of respect toward someone who’s doing his job.

‘I cannot get behind that at all.’
