boss Patrick Vieira has addressed the rumours that Wilfried Zaha could be heading to Roma to link up with .
Roma and Crystal Palace may negotiate a shock swap deal for Zaha that would see teenage striker Felix Afena-Gyan head to Selhurst Park, according to reports.
The 29-year-old forward has been a star player for Palace in the Premier League since he moved back to south from in 2015.
Zaha, who has 28 caps for the Ivory Coast, scored 14 goals in 33 Premier League games last season as Palace finished 12th in Vieira’s first year in charge.
He is now wanted by former United boss Mourinho, who took over at Roma in May 2021 and led them to the UEFA Europa Conference League title last term.
Zaha would link up with a number of former Premier League stars including Tammy Abraham, Chris Smalling, Nemanja Matic and Rui Patricio.
Were a move to happen, it would likely see 19-year-old Afena-Gyan head to Palace, who has played 22 times for the Italian side and is a Ghana international.
Speaking about the rumours, Arsenal legend and Palace boss Vieira said: ‘It’s just a report I think.
‘We are in a period where there is a lot of speculation regarding players.
‘What is really important for me and the football club is that Wilfried Zaha came back on time and he is working well to have a good season.
‘What goes on in the papers, it is difficult for us to control. What I know is that he is happy in our football club and he is looking forward to the new season at our football club.’
Palace’s Premier League season gets started on August 5 when they host Arsenal.
