Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has been linked with a move to , but would he really depart the Emirates?

Premier League champions   – who departed for  this summer – and the 20-year-old’s current contract at the Emirates is set to expire in 2024.

England international Saka was one of Mikel Arteta’s standout performers last season with 11 goals and seven assists in the Premier League and has been named Arsenal’s Player of the Season for the last two campaigns.

But Arsenal have failed to qualify for the top four since 2015-16 and star winger Saka – who made his debut in 2018 and won the  in 2019-20 – has been linked with a step up to a team who can regularly challenge for titles.

Arsenal to prevent him from joining Pep Guardiola’s side, but he is yet to respond to the north London club.

The Gunners have started the 2022-23 campaign strongly and sit top of the Premier League after their opening seven games, with Saka registering a goal and four assists in that time, but City are unbeaten and just one point behind them.

Glen Johnson amid interest from City and another former Liverpool star, Steve McManaman, does not think the 18-time capped England international will move to the Etihad.

‘I don’t know if Manchester City will be able to sign Bukayo Saka,’ McManaman told .

‘The relationship between the two clubs seems strong due to the fact that Manchester City let Arsenal sign Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus.

‘He’s a young and very talented English player. I’d be very surprised if they could get him to be honest.

‘He’s an excellent player and he’s got experience in the Premier League so he could probably fit in their team right away.

‘If Manchester City lose Bernando Silva next summer, then that’d be a big blow but I think Pep Guardiola would let him go if he really wanted to leave because of his services for the club.’
