Xavi Simons is set for a summer move after his brilliant goal in Netherlands’ semi-final defeat to England, but still has a decision to make on where he will be playing his football next season.

The 21-year-old put the Dutch ahead in Dortmund on Wednesday night with a stunning strike from distance, although it was in vain as goals from and put England into the final against Spain on Sunday.

However, the Saint-Germain star did nothing to quell interest in his signature after the brilliant goal which flew past Jordan Pickford and found the top corner.

Simons is in his second spell with PSG but has played just 11 times for the French giants and spent last season on loan at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

PSG sold the youngster to PSV in 2022, with Simons enjoying a superb season with the Dutch club before being bought back by the Parisiens a year later and then loaned out to Leipzig.

It has been an unusual path for Simons so early in his career so far and he has made it clear to PSG that he intends to leave the club this summer, although it looks likely to be another loan deal.

Transfer expert reports that both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are interested in signing the Dutchman this summer and are working on short-term deals.

The player will now make a decision on where he wants to play his football next season, with either a return to Leipzig or a big move to Bayern under Vincent Kompany the two clearest options.

Manchester United have been touted as holding an interest in Simons as well, but he is unlikely to be a priority for the Red Devils as they look to sign a new centre-back and centre-forward.

Another Dutchman looks more likely to arrive at Old Trafford,

According to , United are now close to reaching an agreement with Bayern as the Premier League club have indicated that they are willing to meet De Ligt’s asking price of £42m.
