was left fuming with Prime presenter Marcus Buckland after his joke about early kick-off times following ’s victory over .
The Reds eased to a 2-0 win over the Blades on Wednesday night
They have another quick fixture turnaround ahead of them with a trip to looming on at 12:30pm on Saturday – a kick-off time that has repeatedly frustrated Klopp.
In a post-match interview pitch-side at Bramall Lane, Buckland remarked the Saturday lunchtime game was Klopp’s ‘favourite kick-off time’ – not going down well with the Liverpool boss.
‘That’s great, that’s really great to make a joke about that,’ Klopp said.
Buckland replied: ‘You still have the passion and enjoyment, it’s constant isn’t it, day in, day out?’
A frustrated Klopp answered back: ‘It is constant. I go home, I don’t know when we arrive, 1 or 2am whatever. We play again. We have two sessions – tomorrow and Friday.
‘So it’s fine to recover and we go again. So Crystal Palace played tonight so it’s absolutely fine.
‘But I realise you don’t understand it is as well and you work in football so why should I try to explain again? You can make a joke, you’re completely ignorant. Football is entertainment. I understand.”
Buckland attempted to calm the situation, telling Klopp he was ‘not trying to be disrespectful’.
Having none of it, Klopp said: ‘You were already. All good, you can say what you want, just I cannot say what I want.’
Liverpool’s last 12:30pm kick-off was the 1-1 draw away to Manchester City following November’s international break.
Ahead of that game, Klopp fumed: ‘How can you put a game like this on Saturday at 12.30pm?
‘Honestly, the people making the decisions, they cannot feel football. It is just not possible. This is the moment the world pays the most to see a football game.
‘And by the way, the players will all come back on the same plane, all the South American players, picking them up from different countries.’
