New Tottenham signing revealed his desire to play in the proved a huge factor in his decision to join Spurs.
The Mali international midfielder became ’s third signing of the summer after a £25million fee was agreed with Brighton.
Bissouma has been an integral part of the Seagulls’ improvement under Graham Potter and his combative style will add much needed steel to Spurs’ engine room next season.
The 25-year-old has been regularly linked with and Manchester United in the past, but neither of those sides will appear in Europe’s elite competition next term.
United endured a miserable campaign under first Ole Gunnar Solskajer and latterly his interim replacement, Ralf Rangnick, while the Gunners missed out on fourth place following a late season collapse which allowed their north London rivals to leapfrog them.
Reacting to completing his move to Spurs, an emotional Bissouma told the club’s official website: ‘Champions League music, imagine?
‘The emotion is too much. It’s my dream to play Champions League. When I was young I remember watching Champions League every day and I can’t believe I’m going to play Champions League with Spurs. I’m so happy.
‘I am going to try and help the team. We have a good group and good coach. He’s a great coach everybody knows him and I can pass this step with him he is going to help me more to be what I want to be and help the team as well. I am very happy to play with him.’
Bissouma joins fellow new signings Fraser Forster, the former Souhthampton goalkeeper, and experienced Croatia international winger, Ivan Perisic, who joined on a free from Conte’s former club Inter.
