have received a welcomed injury boost over the international break with Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi back in first-team training.

James suffered a hamstring injury at the end of 2021 that ruled him out him for the first three months of the year.

While he returned to the side with a goal against Burnley on 5 March, a fresh setback sidelined him once again, forcing him out of the England squad for friendly internationals against Switzerland and Ivory Coast.

Hudson-Odoi meanwhile has missed Chelsea’s last five games with an Achilles problem.

Both players were back in full training on Tuesday morning however, joined by the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, Malang Sarr and fellow academy graduate Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

James and Hudson-Odoi are both likely to be in contention to feature in Chelsea’s first game back after the international break at home to Brentford on Saturday.

The Blues are in action seven times in April with their Champions League quarter-final games against Real Madrid falling either side of the Premier League trip to Southampton.

The Blues then head across town to Wembley for their FA Cup semi-final clash with Crystal Palace.

Chelsea have fallen off the pace in the race for the Premier League title and are now 10 points behind second place Liverpool.

Thomas Tuchel’s side hold a five-point lead over rivals Arsenal, who occupy fourth place.
