That’s according to former Italy skipper Fabio Cannavaro, who says he wants to see the ‘real’ Pogba again if he returns to Turin.
Pogba is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Old Lady when his United contract expires at the end of the month, which will see him return to the club after his departure in 2016.
The Frenchman was a huge success during his first stint in Italy, winning five Serie A titles and helping the club to the final in 2015.
But he failed to replicate that form during much of his six years at Old Trafford and Cannavaro feels he must recapture his former self, otherwise he will be ‘of no use’ to the club.
‘Pogba to Juve? I hope to see the real Paul again, the one from the first experience,’ Cannavaro told .
‘He has to find the reasons. The midfielder of recent seasons is of no use to Juventus or France.’
Erik ten Hag didn’t speak to Pogba before his departure but he was made aware of the midfielder’s desire to leave and felt it would have been wrong for the club to offer him a new contract.
The Dutchman is targeting Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong, as well as a striker and a centre-back this summer.
