Isco announces Real Madrid departure with next club yet to be confirmed

Isco’s time at Real Madrid has come to an end after nine years at the Santiago Bernabeu and over 350 appearances for the great club.

The Spain international joined from Malaga in 2013 and leaves with three La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues to his name.

The midfielder had been a big part of the first team when he first arrived, making over 50 appearances in all competitions in both of his first two seasons, but he has fallen out of facour of late.

The season just ended was his least prolific in terms of appearances, making just 17 in all competitions and only three starts in La Liga.

His next destination has not been confirmed, although he has been linked with a switch to Sevilla, but he focussed on an emotional goodbye to Real as he confirmed his departure on social media on Monday.

‘ knocked on my door and Real Madrid cannot and should not be told no, although there are always exceptions,’ Isco wrote on .

‘I remember telling my people Madrid hasn’t won the for many years, and I have a feeling that it’s about to change and (then) La Decima arrived, everything that comes after is already history.

‘Nine years later my time at the club that has made it possible for me to fulfil all the dreams I had when I was little comes to an end.

‘I want to thank my teammates, coaches, coaching staff, physios, kit men, workers at Valdebebas and Santiago Bernabeu for all the work, love and support that everyone needs and that I have never lacked.

‘I also want to thank the fans who welcomed me in an incredible way from the first day and who accompany this team in every corner of the world!

‘Goodbye and Hala Madrid.’
