has provided an injury update on ahead of ’s trip to AFC on Saturday.

The Cherries welcome the champions at the Vitality Stadium looking to secure a first-ever league victory over Pep Guardiola’s men.

Andoni Iraola’s side suffered a 6-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at the Etihad in November and Bournemouth will need a miracle to get anything from the game.

De Bruyne was not involved in City’s win over Brentford on Tuesday and his potential absence would have been a boost to Bournemouth – but Guardiola has confirmed that the Belgian superstar is ‘not injured’ for Saturday’s clash.

Guardiola said: ‘He’s not injured. I don’t know if he’s 100 per cent but I think we took a good decision not to take a risk [against Brentford]. We took a decision because he did not feel comfortable.’

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players have been keeping a close eye on De Bruyne’s fitness with the 32-year-old playing just six top-flight games this term.

De Bruyne has showcased just how important he is to City across those six appearances, though, conjuring up four assists and a goal.

‘I think this week no, but it’s closer,’ Guardiola added. ‘I don’t know exactly I didn’t speak to the doctors but they are closer.’

After their clash on the south coast, City travel to Luton Town in the FA Cup and they are then set for a derby against Manchester United on March 3.
